Caltrop (Tribulus terrestris)
Caltrop, sometimes also referred to with the spicy nickname “The Green Viagra” is known for its effect on sexual proficiency and sexuality, irrespective of the user’s gender. However, it also has some not-so-romantic effects, specifically its capacity to decrease cholesterol levels.
Caltrop is an annual, primarily decumbent plant with yellow blooms of five petals. The fruit is spherical, and when fully ripe, it falls apart into five smaller parts. The fruit, along with the green tops, is the part which contains the highest volume of effective compounds. Caltrop is most likely from the Mediterranean and Near East, but these days it grows in many more areas and is even grown commercially. That is because it is a very sought-after remedial plant, especially for its effects on the libido. It is commonly imported from Bulgaria, where it is very widespread and processed in large volumes.
