FOR THE fifth year in a row, Airbus delivered more aircraft and received more orders than its American rival Boeing. The European airframer handed over 735 commercial aircraft during 2023 and received orders for 2,319 airframes (2,094 net), ending the year with a backlog of 8,598 aircraft.
Meanwhile, Boeing delivered 505 aircraft (528 when including the 23 civil-derived military types) during 2023 and booked commitments for 1,456 airframes (1,314 net). It ended the year with unfulfilled orders covering 6,216 jets.
