Traffic police in the Highlands and Islands are urging motorists not to drink and drive during the festive period, with three drivers already charged.
Local officers are supporting a national campaign to prevent and tackle the crimes of drink or drug driving. Three drivers have already been charged with drink drive offences since the campaign began on December 1. Two men, aged 49 and 56, are due to appear from custody today following offences at the weekend and a 37-year-old woman was due to appear in court at a later date.
The campaign will run throughout the festive period. Anyone with concerns about a suspected drink or drug driver is urged to contact 101 or 999 if it is an emergency to play their part in helping police officers keep people safe.
