AFTER much to-ing and fro-ing, the government appears to have decided to increase tax on online sports gambling but exempt betting on horseracing from the hike. Why it has come to this decision is unclear, but the horseracing industry’s case might have been helped by the fancy freebies it’s been dishing out to MPs.
