HSTs FOR FREIGHT
HiGH Speed Trains could have a future with GB Railfreight next year, after their withdrawal from passenger usage. The company told RAIL on February 8 that while it could confirm there is hope of using HSTs, the particular trains they
would be used on and exactly when they would be introduced could not yet be confirmed. At the annual Rail Delivery Group conference in Birmingham the previous day, GBRf Director of Strategic Development Duncan Clark explained how rail freight is changing, with customers demanding same-day delivery.
