Skye jobs boost as hub doors open

A NEW community hub in south Skye will generate up to seven new jobs, provide services for residents and attract visitors to the area.

An Crùbh, the new £1.8m centre in Sleat, opens its doors next month. It includes a licensed shop and café, post office, community hall, meeting room, exhibition space, toilets and showers.

Situated just above the A851 near Duisdale and Camuscross, the building, which boasts spectacular views over the Sound of Sleat, is owned and run by Camuscross and Duisdale Initiative (CDI). Major revenue support funding from the National Lottery was secured for the build, while the fundraising efforts of the local community are taking the business side forward.
