Family of charity hero Nonny hand over cheques

Cheques for £7,000 were handed over to cancer support charities from the organisers of a fundraising football and family fun day for We Will Walk This Road Together. Karen MacInnes, right, alongside daughter Jenna, left, handed over the cheques, with John Scott, centre, the main organiser of the event, overseeing the exchange. Lillian Kermode accepted the cheque on behalf of Marie Curie while June Pearson accepted the Cancer Research UK donation. A further donation will be made to Oban Hospice once the accounts are finalised. Townsfolk were shocked earlier this year when one of the founding members of the charity, Nonny MacInnes, died after a battle with cancer. Nonny, Karen, Jenna, Kirsty and Rhoda MacInnes, and a team of volunteers and musicians, ran a number of hugely successful concerts in the Corran Halls, supporting Cancer Research, Oban Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
