Days gone by – 1995

This week we feature some of the people who attended the Lochaber Show centenary dance held in the West End Hotel in Fort William back in December 1995.

Eilidh MacLeod.

JOINING campaigns to raise money for charity is not something I am accustomed to and, although I admire those who take on such work, I have not ever been actively involved before. Being in a band means that requests to support groups, causes and individuals are constant and, with the wee blip in popularity that we’re lucky to be having just now, the number of requests coming in has jumped a lot recently.

It is heartening to be aware of the amount of good work that volunteers and fundraisers are doing and it is very difficult to know how to approach all the requests received as nearly all are truly worthy causes close to the hearts of those involved.

Making small financial and other contributions and playing at a few discounted and some free gigs has been something we have always done, but as yet we have shied away from any other active role.
