Budding writers recognised in national contest

PUPILS at Ardnamurchan High School have once again topped a national competition, this time for their literary skills.

At the recent Amazing Animals Brilliant Science competition – organised by ARC (Amphibian and Reptile Conservation) and supported by Scottish Natural Heritage and The Heritage Lottery fund – three S2 students were recognised for their work.

Cheryl MacIntyre won first prize for her story, while Craig MacCowan and Archie Campbell were highly commended for their poems, earning themselves a place at the award ceremony held at Edinburgh Zoo on Saturday October 21.
