During a recent teacher training, the discussion of conscious parenting came up. Of course it would as the training explores the art of being with young people. The question was how to do this without bringing in our own limitations? Do we have the skill to see how mysterious and powerful the child really is? To do so, we must learn to lift the veil and be willing to see them in their own unique way. The challenge is ours as adults as we work towards seeing each one of our children in the way they wish to be seen, and then holding the space for them to blossom into that, offering boundaries and guidance when necessary, but also stepping back at times for everyone to breathe. Indeed a tall order on this adventurous path of winding roads. There is no map for this parental route because magic often happens outside of a defined space.
