A wetsuit will be your most expensive purchase but entry-level suits can be affordable, or consider second-hand. Or save more money by forsaking neoprene and swimming skins!
Outdoor swimmers are an innovative bunch. While you may see lots of expensive kit at your swim spot, you’ll also find that outdoor swimmers take great pride in their often colourful, occasionally eccentric alternatives. Changing robes and technical wetsuits aren’t always affordable, and plenty of swimmers aren’t interested in buying them. Whether you can’t afford to splash out on kit, or you’re a swim wild and free purist, one thing’s for certain - a lack of gear should never be a barrier to swimming outdoors.
