Switch off from the stresses of daily live
Coach Cassie says: Thank you for your question and honesty. I have also struggled with low mood in the past. It’s hard to explain to people who have never experienced it, how consuming it can be. I have been an ambassador for the mental health charity Mind. We worked on raising awareness of how exercise and being outdoors can have such a positive effect on mood and a general sense of wellbeing. Outdoor swimming ticks both boxes – by exercising you are getting a good hit of the positive mood enhancing endorphins, as well as switching off from the stresses of daily live by immersing yourself in the beauty of the outdoors by being closer to nature.
