View from the Labs
With little innovation in printers, it’s a game of spot the difference between this year’s Labs and the last – but is that such a bad thing?
Put someone in a room with 12 printers for long enough, and they’ll start running out of things to talk about. That was certainly the case with this group test, which resulted in something like 80 scanned pictures, 120 photocopies and 1,500 pages of printing, all conducted over the course of a week. As always, I made copious notes, and re-tested anything that didn’t look right. I had plenty of material to write up in my reviews, and yet, after it all, curiously little to say about the bigger picture.
