Supplements for millipedes
I can’t seem to find much information about calcium supplementation for millipedes. I know they need it for their exoskeletons but what is the best way of administering it? I have giant African train millipedes and wondered how you go about supplementing their diet with calcium, as mine tend to avoid any food that has calcium sprinkled on it.
This is something that many people often overlook, but calcium supplementation is essential for millipedes, allowing them to moult and develop a healthy new exoskeleton. As you have found, dusting foods can often put millipedes off eating. I find it best to use a high quality calcium powder, such as Vetark’s Calci-dust and just lightly sprinkle the food with it.
