One Hump, Not Two
What a difference a decade makes! After an eight-year break from the studio, Vienna Circle return with their elegant third album, Secrets Of The Rising Sun. This time, the guitar-led release finds Paul Davis completing the circle alone. Prog catches up with the musician to discuss his passion for Camel, and find out why a change is just as good as a rest.

“Andy Latimer is my main influence. He’s so underrated as a guitarist.”
“I’m getting on!” exclaims Paul Davis, who’s all of 35 and doesn’t even look that. “The time goes so quick. We wrote the first Vienna Circle album in our teens, and to have the third one only out now, it’s like – where’s all the time gone?!” But it’s not as if he hasn’t been busy. Based in Swindon, the talented multi-instrumentalist is a civil engineer by trade, designing housing estates for a living. He’s a married father of two, and now – since his bassist/lyricist brother Jack amicably ducked out of the band – he’s also the sole full-time member of Vienna Circle.
