Malcolm Dome’s name will be familiar to many readers of Prog. A respected music journalist and broadcaster, he had also been a valued contributor since this magazine’s inception in 2009. Editor Jerry Ewing writes a heartfelt tribute to his longtime friend and colleague, who passed away suddenly in October 2021.

Music writer Malcolm Dome passed away in October 2021, aged 66. He had been a contributor to Prog since the magazine’s inception in 2009, as well as a longtime friend of most of the writers on the magazine.
Malcolm had an illustrious and celebrated career, which stretched back to working for Record Mirror in the late 70s and Metal Fury poster magazine in the early 80s before joining Kerrang! at its launch in 1981.
