Three women share how they manage and enhance their energy levels around their busy everyday lives…

“One person can drain all your energy so there’s nothing left for you or anyone else”

As I’ve got older, I’ve realised just how much of a drain negative people can be on your energy. I met a woman a few years ago and, at first, our friendship seemed good. But, when her children left home, she struggled with empty-nest syndrome and the fact that she was no longer working in a successful business like she had done in the past.

She became very negative. It seemed like a downward spiral. We’d meet up at least once a week, and it would never be a quick coffee, it would always be a long chat. We’d go over and over the same topics, and she would never take on any of the advice or assistance I gave, so, the next time I met her, we’d have the same conversations.
