Vintage photographic equipment will be up for grabs at the Ivoire Chartres auction firm on March 9-10. First off on Saturday is the 700-lot collection of Bernard Plazonnet. This features cameras from the early years of photography (1860s-80s) plus 20th century cameras encompassing well-known brands such as Leica, Nikon Kodas and Zeiss, as well as a selection of optical toys and viewers.
Pictured here is one of the rarities from the Plazonnet sale: an 1860s portable developing set from Dubroni, Rue de Rivoli Paris, designed to enable the early photographer to develop their own photos without needing recourse to cumbersome equipment. It includes the original instructions. The estimate is €3000-4000.
