One of the largest boat jumbles in the UK is likely to attract increased numbers of boat owners, boat lovers and collectors of nauticalia on Sunday, May 12.
Extra footfall is expected at the flagship Solent Boat Jumble in Royal Victoria Country Park, Southampton, because of the cancellation of the Beaulieu Boat Jumble, run since 1978 at the Beaulieu National Motor Museum, 25 miles away.
Chris Chaddock of Chaddock & Fox, which organises boat jumbles in Hampshire and Kent, said: “Our event regularly attracts 150-200 stands with a small proportion who sell nautical antiques and marine-related decorators’ items. But a significant proportion of general marine item sellers also have vintage marine equipment on their stalls which would be of interest to collectors and decorators.”
