A fine Victorian building in the town of Cockermouth in the Lake District which was built in 1868 for the founder of Mitchell’s Auctions – whose saleroom is still in the town – is now home to the Fairfield House Antiques Centre.
The building’s current owner, John Potts, said: “When Collectors’ Corner closed over the road some of the dealers had nowhere to go so I thought this would be a great antiques centre.
“The building is an integral part of the town and the centre will hopefully boost the town. People who have already visited have loved it.”
