An auction house in Bristol is celebrating its 10th anniversary in business by holding 10 sales in as many days.
East Bristol Auctions opened in May 2012 in Hanham, Bristol, and is owned and run by partners Evan McPherson and Samantha Homes. In the past decade it has grown to employ nearly 30 staff, expanded its premises and recently joined The Society Of Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers (SOFAA).
The celebratory auctions run daily from May 19-28 and include a newly formed Contemporary art auction, an auction dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi (East Bristol previously sold a pair of spectacles once owned by Gandhi for a hammer price of £260,000; see ATG No 2457), memorabilia and autographs relating to The Great Train Robbery (1963), a Gentleman’s Library sale as well as a private collection of animation artwork plus furniture, ceramics and decorative arts sales.
