A SHOP keeper and a youth worker had the task of judging entries of the fifth annual Isle of Gigha root and industrial show.
Joe Teale of Ardminish Stores and youth worker Kenny Wilson had the task of judging the best parsnips and potatoes as well as the ugliest vegetable on Saturday September 23. A coffee morning event alongside the root competition raised a total over £963 for Macmillan Cancer Support. A spokesperson said: ‘The overall root section winner was Catriona Walker and the industrial section winner was Maggie Wilkieson. Congratulations to them both.
