A congregation of around 100 people attend the dedication service for a new First World War memorial in Pirnmill on Saturday September 29.
The moving service was led by the Rev Angus Adamson and saw the eight men of Pirnmill and district who died in the war take their rightful place alongside three men who died in the Second World War in the village’s memorial garden.
Fiona Laing first proposed the idea of commissioning a WW1 memorial for the village eight years ago and after much research identified the eight men from the area who died in the war.
