ENGLAND ATHLETICS U15/U17 COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIPS, Bedford
JOEL McFARLANE won the under-17 decathlon in his first year at the event but in windy conditions just missed his PB set when winning the Scottish Championships.
His marks included 100m and long jump PBs of 11.74 and 6.76m respectively.
The under-17 women’s event was a much closer affair as Jade O’Dowda defeated Holly McArthur by just 11 points.
McArthur ran a 2:16.69 800m to defeat O’Dowda by almost 10 seconds and just fail to make up the defecit.
Aran Thomas a was a clear winner of the under-15 boys’ octathlon and he improved his high jump PB from 1.50m to 1.56m.
Jessica Hopkins was a runaway winner of the under-15 girls’ hexathon.
Hopkins won the hurdles in a PB 11.74 and set a long jump best of 5.29m.
