JAMES DASAOLU says a switch back to the basics is behind his resurgent form in 2016 after a disastrous 2015 season.
Among the pressure of the most hotly contested 100m race in recent memory at the British championships the 28-year-old held his nerve and form to secure his place on the plane to the Rio Olympics, claiming his first outdoor British title with a windy 9.93 ahead of James Ellington and CJ Ujah – his first sub-10 clocking since a 9.97 run in the semi-final at the Moscow World Championships.
After a huge breakthrough year in 2013 where Dasaolu clocked 9.91 at the national championships and made the World Championship 100m final in Moscow, followed shortly by European gold in 2014, Dasaolu suffered a dramatic loss of form in 2015 where he failed to make it past the heats in Beijing last year.
