Frank Sinatra first rolled into the architectural offices of Williams, Williams & Williams wearing a white sailor hat and eating an ice cream cone. He wanted a house in Palm Springs—a sleepy town at the time—and he wanted E. Stewart Williams and his two brothers to build it (this was, in fact, Williams’ first residential project).
