GLORIOUS weather drenched the final Texas scramble of Dunaverty’s winter league. Four teams of three competed last Saturday with John Brown, Graeme McLennan and Raymond Harvey, 62 - 7.5 - 54.5 coming up trumps.
The first team out, Sandy Watson, Danny Halliday and Bill Brannigan got off to a flying start by birdying the first three holes and reached the turn in 29 strokes. They completed their round in 61 to give them a nett 55.
The next two teams were very close with a nett 56 and 56.2 but it was the last team of John Brown, Raymond Harvey and Graeme McLennan who produced a winning score of 54.5 thanks to John sinking a twenty foot putt for a birdie three on the 18th green.
