One of the most ubiquitous producers of the 2000s, William Orbit suffered burnout for several years. Having produced their magical Pure Shores, Orbit’s only recent work was on All Saints’ 2018 comeback album Testament. Thankfully fully recovered, the reissue of three of Orbit’s own works heralds a brand new album coming this summer, his first since Strange Cargo 5 and third classical LP Symphonic, which both arrived in 2014. Having produced some of the best work in careers as varied as Madonna, Blur and Betty Boo, this reminder of Orbit’s skills is timely – hopefully a new generation of artists will hire a true maverick.
