There was a time when I yearned to leave the city, to escape
the traffic and find a more tranquil setting to call my home.
I still remember how difficult it was to make the move, and all
the questions I had: How will I earn a living? Can I start a new
business? Will I end up missing my old life and regret my decision?
Many coast readers live in cities and dream of moving to the
seaside. I hope that we not only give you a glimpse into life by the sea
and some great ideas for adventures to have there, but also help answer
some of the questions you have before following your dream.
In this issue we hear from people who have left their old professions behind
and begun completely new businesses on the coast. Tony and Gordon sold
their London loft and opened a luxury B&B in Devon, and Suzy and David
gave up their previous careers to refurbish a hotel in St Ives. Both couples
offer their top tips for starting afresh. If you have done the same, tell me
