Microsoft is no longer a Teams player
Thanks for the article on Microsoft’s big price increase for 365 (Issue 705, page 60). Microsoft has also made Teams (www.snipca. com/54119, pictured right) less attractive.
I occasionally use it to dial into hospital trusts members’ webcasts. This worked fine until recently when, after logging in, I was met with a banner telling me that some features and functionality were no longer available and I needed to revert to my previous version.
However, I could no longer see all the presentations during a webcast. It transpired that the version of Teams I had used for several years was no longer part of 365. I had been upgraded without my knowledge to Teams Free, which has limited functionality.
I further learned that presentations may not be visible because of the method used by the presenter, and that it would be up to me to tell them. But that’s not really practical when there are over 100 people on a webcast.
Microsoft is not only increasing prices to add features many may not want, such as Copilot. They have also removed and hobbled programs that subscribers have been using. Perhaps the impact on Teams could be covered in another article?
