HAVING FIRST lived in London 20 years ago and having now lived here for the past three years, I can assure you that a lot has changed, and changed for the better. What can we attribute that to? Blame the 2012 London Olympics for helping the city raise, and leap over, its already high bar.
London, perhaps even moreso than rival New York, is a true test-case of a cultural melting pot. Speaking of pots, the cuisine now, thankfully, reflects the city’s global flair with even the old English staple fish’n’chips being reinvented as a trendy meal (grilled fish with low sodium salt chips, if you please). Waxworks wonder Madame Tussauds has been keeping up with the times with its latest addition a replica of the world’s most famous non-celebrity, Kim Kardashian. Yes, London is officially the world’s trendiest Zeitgeist custodian.
