Capaldi Care
◼ Last September Peter Capaldi joined UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency dedicated to saving lives, using his position to help explain the difference between refugees and migrants during the Words Matter campaign (also supported by Neil Gaiman and David Morrissey). In December, Peter visited Syrian civil war refugees in Jordan and he encourages contributions to the Winter Crisis Appeal tinyurl.com/WinCrisis or the Syria Crisis Lifeline Appeal tinyurl.com/SyrLife. He is also raising funds for the National Galleries of Scotland via a digital reproduction of John Byrne’s Capaldi portrait available for purchase at £10.99 via www.nationalgalleries.org. Christopher Eccleston has fronted an online video made for Alzheimer’s Research UK, that tackles misconceptions about dementia. Chris, whose father had the condition, said he hoped it would “fight the misunderstanding and fatalism that surrounds dementia.”
