A Radio 2 concert to celebrate 60 years of Doctor Who will take place on 28 September at BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff.
The performance will be given by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the BBC Singers, directed by Alastair King. It will include incidental music composed for the series by Murray Gold including I am the Doctor, Abigail’s Song, This is Gallifrey, The Impossible Girl, A Good Man?, The Shepherd’s Boy and the Doctor Who theme itself. There will also be music from the 60s, 70s and 80s featuring BBC Radiophonic Workshop veterans Mark Ayres and Peter Howell, and a look ahead to the three 60th anniversary specials starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor. Special guests will include showrunners Russell T Davies, Steven Moffat and Chris Chibnall.
