Far: Changing Tides
The sense of mystery is heightened this time, not only because the machine doesn’t seem to be yours, and its turquoise buttons aren’t helpfully labelled, but also thanks to hints of a backstory about ancient technology
Okomotive clearly takes the idea that a sequel should add more depth literally. Like predecessor Lone Sails, Changing Tides is the story of one person’s struggle from left to right in an eccentric vehicle. But whereas the first game had you rolling across parched land, this one places you in the wake of a biblical flood, piloting a rusty ark. With this reverse environmental disaster come fathoms of downward verticality, new challenges and spaces to explore.
