Life isn’t as good without bikes, but my family and I have been coping alright with the lockdown. We live here in the UK and the weather has been nice so it’s been good to be able to spend some time with the family, but I’m really looking forward to riding again. My job as a development rider for the Suzuki MotoGP Team is to assess and understand what can be beneficial to the factory riders, to determine the avenues we want to explore, and to give constructive criticism and feedback to the engineers. Basically, I try different items and strategies, feel what’s going on, and discuss it with the engineers. When you work on the bike, it’s not just one specific area, we are always looking at a multitude of things. The testing programme we have got now is working well and we are moving the package forward a lot. Because the bike is so good now, we are working on all of the small details, to make marginal gains.
