FlyPast Magazine April 2013 Edição anterior

English
207 Comentários   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Aviation)
Only €5,99
The April issue of FlyPast features a particularly stunning air-to-air sortie with four World War Two fighters, all representative of aircraft that flew in the Battle of Britain. Two Supermarine Spitfires, a Hawker Hurricane and a Hispano Buchón took off from Duxford for a flight over the iconic white cliffs of Beachy Head, a tribute to the men and machines that once did battle there. Thankfully, FlyPast's Richard Paver was there to capture the event in images and words.

REMEMBERING THE SWORDFISH
This issue comes with a special, 18-page section highlighting the history and operational career of the Fairey Swordfish, an aircraft that seemed obsolete in World War Two, but nevertheless proved more than capable. We look at its history, profile some of the brave crews, and include some exclusive colour artwork of the rare floatplane version.

CAPTURED – LUFTWAFFE BOMBERS
Historian Chris Goss presents a portfolio of images focusing on German bombers that fell into Allied hands.

WINGS OVER WAIRARAPA
Phil Whalley visits New Zealand to sample the incredible Wings Over Wairarapa airshow

B-52 DOWN!
Stratofortress pilot Maj John D Mize remembers a Vietnam mission that went from bad to worse.

P-38 LIGHTNING
The long and intriguing history of Allied Fighters' P-38 is described by Michael O'Leary, who also goes air-to-air with this beautiful machine.

Plus, we pay tribute to the bravery of VC recipient Sgt John Hannah, visit a Czech air force base museum rich in heritage, and accompany Ken Ellis on an aviation-themed tour of Shropshire. We bring you news of a Canadian Hurricane and Spitfire restoration, along with all the latest preservation and museum updates. Don't miss this issue.

Digital subscription for Flypast magazine

I have purchased the Flypast magazine for many years and generally as a hard copy. However, for the last couple of years l have subscribed annually to the digital version and now read on my iPad.
The magazine is great and I always find the content interesting and varied and never bored with the topics covered. Whilst previously enjoying the hard copy l am now a devoted digital subscriber and would recommend this version. On the downside you miss out on add ons such as calendars etc.
