THE League One schedule for 2023 has been left in disarray by the withdrawal of regular basement dwellers West Wales Raiders from the competition.
The Rugby Football League learned of the Llanelli club's decision five weeks after the publication of fixtures, with the Raiders having been due to open at home to Oldham on Sunday, February 5. At a hastily-arranged meeting, after 'loop' games were given the thumbs down, the remaining ten thirdtier clubs agreed to stick to the existing list, with the dates of games against West Wales duly becoming blank.
