LETTER OF THE MONTH!
iPHONE 16e PRICES
I’m just reading your May 2025 (#MF416) issue, and when I saw the comment about the new iPhone 16e being not quite a budget model, I had to do a little trip down memory lane, accompanied by some maths.
The base model 16e is £599. By comparison, my very first iPod, back in 2001, was £399. That iPod only did one thing… it played 1,000 songs. By comparison, the iPhone 16e is a Swiss Army Knife, that also can hold over 15,000 songs. But wait… there’s more! When you take inflation into account, that 2001 iPod cost me the equivalent (in 2025) of £729, while the £699 16e was the equivalent of around £325 in 2001. So all in all, I think the 16e is a pretty good deal!
