It was inevitable that sci-fi/horror show Stranger Things would return for a fourth season. Four days after Netflix released season three on July 4, 2019, they announced it had broken their viewing records: more than 40 million people had already seen at least one episode, and 18.2 million had binge-watched the entire thing.
In September, they announced the show’s next instalment, while fans obsessed over questions such as, “Is Jim Hopper really dead?”, “What’s gonna happen in California?”, and “Will I get to make more memes about Joyce’s magnets?” They had to wait three years for answers.
