1/35
Elefant Corporation are a relatively new UK-based company that have a growing range of 1/35-scale resin, photoetch, decals and 3D-printed accessories and detail sets for both modern and World War II AFV kits. On their website, they explain something of the ethos behind their slogan ‘From modellers to modellers’. Elefant use the highest quality materials available on the market and this is especially true for the rubber used to make the moulds for resin casting. Making the forms for the moulds wider than usual results in a more uniform thickness of the finished product, but also slows down their production. They don’t cast more than five times a day and each casting remains in the mould for at least an hour. Allowing them to remain this long, along with larger rubber moulds, guards against the warping that is often a feature of inferior resin castings. Moreover, each mould is only used a maximum of ten times. As modellers, they try to make everything as if it were for their own personal use. The same is true of their 3D printing and photoetch: these are outsourced to the best producers and have a very high threshold of quality control.
