I’m always searching for new ways to push my photography using my iPhone. Although long-exposure photography is as old as the practice of photography itself, I find shooting long-exposure images with a mobile device to be a fascinating and thrilling experience.
In this first part of a two-part series, I’ll take you through some long-exposure basics using the app Slow Shutter Cam. In part two, I’ll show you more of the wild side of taking long exposures and how I use this technique more creatively with the light painting tool to create painterly images that I then incorporate into my digital collages.
