I’ve been reading George Dent’s book
Weathering for Railway Modellers
and have admired his skill and enjoyed his advice as a regular reader of
Model Rail.
I’ve seen plenty of coverage of acrylics, oils and enamel paints, but I’m wondering how – or if – artists’ acrylics can be used.
I have tried them on my own layout, including the station and brake van illustrated here. I’ve been satisfied with the results, but I wonder if I’m being optimistic about their robustness and a skinflint for not buying more ‘proper’ hobby paint! Does George have any thoughts or advice on the use of these paints on models?
