ONLY 60 per cent of people in the Highlands complete bowel cancer screening People in the Highlands are being urged to complete their bowel cancer screening.
On average, only 60 per cent of people living in the Highlands who are sent the test for free in the post actually complete it. Bowel Cancer UK, the UK’s leading bowel cancer research charity, is encouraging people living in the region to take part in the screening programme as part of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month in April.
In this month alone more than 300 people in Scotland will be diagnosed with bowel cancer and in excess of 130 people will die from the disease.
