It is Doors Open Day at The Rockfield Centre on Saturday July 21, when there will be an opportunity to take a tour of the main building and rekindle some memories through memorabilia and photographs over a cup of tea and cake. There will also be a kids’ corner on the day. From noon to 4pm, Oban Communities Trust chairman Gordon McNab will be hosting tours of the main building, while old photographs and memorabilia associated with the former school will be on display in the community huts. Trustees are calling for former pupils to bring along any photographs, trophies, medals or other memorabilia.
Mhairi Ross, who runs the centre’s Heritage Hunters group, said: ‘This will be a great opportunity to share memories and have a good old get-together. Bring your old classroom photographs and see how many folk you recognise, as well as any other items that have a special association with the school.’
