HEART monitors ideal for cardiac patients on the islands have been bought by Oban hospital thanks to £4,100 raised by two organisations.
Two donations of £3,500 from Argyll Beats Cardiovascular Disease (ABCD) and £600 from the Lorn Ploughing Match have helped Lorn and Islands Hospital pay for six portable heart monitors.
‘They are a great asset to the cardiac department,’ specialist cardiac physiologist Jayne Mahmoud told fundraisers at a demonstration in the hospital’s cardio-respiratory unit.
