BBC Children in Need is giving a three-year grant of £30,000 to Hope 2 Oban for its work supporting vulnerable young people who are struggling with mental health issues, family breakdown or are at-risk of social isolation.
The award will help pay for youth workers and materials to support a number of weekly programmes aimed at improving young people’s responses to stressful situations and building their self-confidence.
Amy Inglis, director at Hope 2 Oban, said: ‘Our project works with a number of young people coming from Argyll’s more remote islands. It’s so important they have trusting adults who will listen to their concerns and point them in a positive direction.
