It would be a hard-hearted person indeed who did not feel empathy with the plight faced by Oban woman Lorna McCullock.
Lorna, who is disabled, turned to The Oban Times after being let down badly by the statutory bodies to which she appealed for assistance to address a serious problem with flooding around her home in Halzeldean Crescent in the town.
Scottish Water, Argyll and Bute Council and Argyll Community Housing Association were all asked to help by Lorna but, in what appears to be a classic case of buck-passing, wrung their hands and did nothing. It is little wonder Lorna says she feels she is ‘breaking point’, as she cannot find even a single company to insure her contents.
