Footsure islanders and visitors on Mull took to the dance floor to raise more than £2,000 for a cancer charity.
Two ceilidh line dances in Bunessan and Tobermory, organised by Richard Pendlebury, raised £2,600.05 for Marie Curie. Mr Pendlebury, from Dervaig, said: ‘The first one took place in Bunessan where 57 islanders, young and old, came and had the most happy if exhausting night of partying and dancing. Former members of the Manchester Prairie Dogs joined the dancers and gave two fabulous demonstrations of fast and technically complicated footwork much to everyone’s delight and appreciation.’
Mr Pendlebury used to dance with the Manchester Prairie Dogs when he lived in England and had invited his friends up to visit. Money was also raised with a rafte of three hampers put together with items generously donated from businesses and supporters across Mull.
