James Kennedy states (The Oban Times, August 23) that Ian Blackford went into the Liberal Democrat campaign off ce in a civil manner and that it was the campaign manager who was angry and aggressive.
He or she had every right to be. During elections, candidates expect to meet each other at pre-arranged hustings and, if necessary, communicate via their designated agents.
But for one candidate to go to another’s office unannounced and uninvited is a serious breach of the etiquette by which free and fair elections are run. It it were not so, imagine the scope for interference and intimidation that could follow.
