In issue 399 we feature 1884 John Fowler single-cylinder Aethelfred which is to be sold as part of the late Richard Vernon sale on Saturday 3 June. We preview the sale in this issue which features many pioneering i/c tractors as well. In the news we feature Gilbert Armour’s Yorkshire 3 ton wagon which is making great strides since it received its new boiler.

Hugh Dougherty tells us about the new Greenway path that threatens the County Donegal revival. We look back to September 2022 and the Berwick St John County Fayre which raised £310,000 for charity. We also report on the Lifetime Award recently presented by the National Transport Trust to Ray Hooley.

In Model News this month we look at Universal Hobbies, Solido, Brausi, Spark and Autocult. On the rally scene we look at the season opener at Shepton Mallett in late January and David Reed looks at the March RRA AGM and special weekend in Yorkshire. We travel to the March 2023 Kelsey Publishing Tractor World Show at Malvern, which the editor of Old Glory Peter Love set up in 2001. It saw a record crowd, even though many of the exhibitors were stuck in various part of the country owing to snow leading up to the event.

The second part on the Queensland Big Lion B6, now called Desmond, is featured, the editor looks at the Buckingham Railway Centre part 1 and what it’s all about with building inspector Ricki Sutcliffe head of the vehicles collection here. There are two traction engine rail locomotives on site which are featured here.

Allan Bedford takes a good black and white look at Scout who made lorries, buses and charabancs at Sailsbury, Wiltshire.
